Gluten Free Food at Pho Dong
Vietnamese Restaurant
I've found Vietnamese Restaurants often have some great gluten free foods. Pho Dong is not an exception. You can get Pho in many Vietnamese restaurants, as well as rice paper wrapped spring rolls—usually unfried, but if you miss crunchy stuff, look for fried ones, they are wonderful. Some restaurants bring you the rice papers to dip in water and add your own fillings.
At Pho Dong I had something I've never had before: the vegetarian Vietnamese crepe made with egg instead of flour. It was very fresh and tasty. There were fresh broccoli, carrots and tofu in a nice, crisp on the outside crepe.
I also had the brisket pho, a popular noodle dish made with rice noodles and a great broth.
The service was great and the atmosphere very clean and comfortable.

Thanks Deborah,
I can't wait to try it when I'm in the area, since I'm not too far.
I love pho since it's made with rice noodles, and the crepes sound really interesting.

NOTES:
I know Pho is a common Vietnamese noodle dish but I would love to hear if other Vietnamese Restaurants have the crepes...Anybody else ever have them?
Caution:Vietnamese food tends to use fish sauce, which doesn't contain wheat, instead of soy sauce which does. That's the good news.
But often Vietnamese restaurants also prepare Chinese dishes too, which will likely have gluten containing soy sauce in them.
As with all restaurant dining, be sure to talk to them and make sure you know what you're getting.
